Arbutus unedo

(Strawberry tree) A slow-growing, large evergreen shrub with attractive cinnamon coloured peeling bark and leathery dark green leaves. Produces white flowers in the autumn along with vaguely strawberry-like, fruits. Prefers a sunny sheltered position and humus-rich soil. Eventual height 4-8m.
